All done in an environment that is quintessentially old-world, and harkens back to a time when craftsmanship, and hard work were the order of the day.  

The Lord Essex, has a long and storied history, it was opened 94 years ago by the Kahler family when they built the hotel. It was in the early days the bar for the Elizabethan Room, the hotel's Grand Ballroom. Through the years it has become the premier dining facility, and serves as the flagship restaurant for the Kahler Group of Hotels.

Through the Lord Essex’s menu, which changes constantly, the restaurant commits itself to creating excellent French bistro cuisine with the finest quality ingredients.

Our Culinary Team

The Culinary team is currently lead by Executive Chef Stewart Woodman. The three time James Beard Nominee, and winner of the prestigious Best New Chef award from Food & Wine Magazine has been a celebrated and award winning chef in the region for the past twelve years.

Prior to that Mr. Woodman worked at world renowned restaurants in New York, Paris, and Monaco as a sous chef for the world's great chefs. Including, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Eric Ripert, and Alain Ducasse.
